  1. I see both opponents squaring off in the main lobby of the hotel which gives more open space for them to duke it out. This allows the Scarecrow Slayer to implement some of his famous front flips. I bet The Ripper would be amused by the Scarecrow's shindigs and jujitsu moves, but the Scarecrow would immediately charge wielding those sickles. The Ripper sees it coming and chops off an arm. I doubt the Scarecrow would feel it much which would get him close enough to deliver a slice to The Ripper's neck.

I simply see it as a quick fight that ends with one lucky blow to the head. Scarecrow Slayer has ridiculous ninja skills and would be too crafty!

    Scarecrow Slayer- 8, The Ripper - 2

  2. I also see this fight starting off in the main lobby and I don't think the battlefield gives either fighter a clear advantage. They both have good weapons but I think The Ripper's gives him a slight advantage. However, that could be negated because Scarecrow Slayer is very skilled and acrobatic and could dodge and avoid a lot of The Ripper's attacks. If The Ripper can land a good hit with his axe then it should slow Scarecrow Slayer down enough for The Ripper to finish him off. Like I said before, The Ripper is going to have a hard time doing that when Scarecrow Slayer is jumping around and doing flips all over the place. I think Scarecrow Slayer will be able to cut The Ripper up pretty bad with his sickles which will wear him down and he will eventually land a killing blow.

So I'm leaning towards Scarecrow Slayer (6-4) in a close fight.

  3. At first glance, it appears that both of these creepy looking guys would make for an even match, but one must look deeper to find the hidden truths. The Ripper, although pretty damn scary looking, is really only a a "deranged mortal" being with a big ass axe. The Scarecrow Slayer, on the other hand, is a "soulless evil" being that is not of this world and possesses incredible strength and mystical powers. So here's here how this match plays out:

The Ripper wanders the halls of the hotel with his axe in hand looking feverishly for his arch enemy. He happens upon the Scarecrow Slayer who is perched motionless on his wooden cross just off the Dining Room. The Ripper takes little time chopping down the post to get to his rival, but soon regrets awakening the slumbering beast. They go out each other with vengeance, but it is obvious that the "Crow" has considerably more power and can withstand incredibly more pain. Seeing this firsthand, The Ripper tries to escape this hand to hand combat situation but is taken off his feet with a couple swift swipes of the Crow's two cleavers. The Ripper groggily regains his feet only to be finished off when the Scarecrow Slayer lands one last cleaver blow decapitating the Ripper. The Ripper is ripped!

What looked good on paper from a matchmaker's perspective ends rather quickly. It's The Scarecrow Slayer 8-2 over the Ripper.

  4. I enter humbly into the conversation, among many sophisticated and well-articulated arguments having been put forth by my peers. It is appropriate that these two blade-wielding contestants square off for entry into the Slasher Region. It will be a matter of who slashes the slashiest.

Let's suppose the fight commences in the main lobby. However, one look at the "Crow" will send the Ripper running outdoors and headed for the shrub maze. The Ripper is deadly accurate with his axe, but the S.Crow is more athletic. Once confined to the maze, the quarters are closed. But no matter where the fighting takes place, the Ripper is at a disadvantage for two reasons: 1) he's wearing a bright yellow rain-slicker, which will make him easy to spot; and 2) his weapon is not immediately retrievable; that is, once he throws it, he had better make sure it hits.

I think once the Ripper overcomes his initial fear of a fully animated ninja-scarecrow, then he will strike first with a swift axe throw that cuts off the Crow's arm (a la PAT M). But then the Ripper is unarmed and on the run again. Once inside the maze, the Crow ninja-flips over the hedges and takes the Ripper by surprise, delivering decisive scythe blows all over his body. But the Ripper is no sissy, and he manages to disarm the Crow and all of a sudden, the fight ironically heads where no one thought it would: hand-to-hand combat. This, of course, favors the fighting skills of the Crow, who handily finishes off the Ripper with a handstand neck-snapper.

Scarecrow wins 6-4. Tony Todd is pleased.

  5. Ok looks like another unamious decision. So Scarecrow Slayer will advance and get the 16 seed in the Slasher Region.
